During your PADI Open Water training you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving. Through an
instructor guided program, you will watch the Open Water educational movie, do independent and
guided study with a manual, have knowledge review quizzes, confined water skill practice sessions
and final sessions in the open ocean. Upon completing these things you will have a multiple choice
final exam.

You will start your studying by taking a look at the basic physics and physiology of diving and how it
applies to you as a diver. Scuba is an equipment heavy sport, but in this course, you will become
familiar with all of the recreational pieces of gear and their functions. You will have a chance to work
on neutral buoyancy and streamlining of your body with your equipment. You will also learn the most important skills of safe scuba diving and be able to dive to depths of 18 meters/ 60 feet. Not just that,
but upon finishing your course, you will become a world-wide recognized, certified PADI Open Water
diver!

This course is open to all people over the age of 10. (Divers between the ages of 10 and 14 will
receive the Junior Open Water certification.) All you need to get started is a swimming suit and basic
swimming skills!

You should plan on spending a minimum of 3 days to complete this course, but 4 days is highly recommended.
